About Between the Lines

What is Between the Lines?

Our vision is to build a community where young people can discuss and debate issues relating to drugs with others and find information and help, which ultimately informs and reduces problematic use.

By bringing the conversation out in the open and facilitating  the perspectives of experts and young people, Between the Lines enables people to make considered choices about using drugs and reduce the harms they incur if they take drugs. If you decide to get involved in the conversation, be sure to check out our Community Guidelines.

Who's behind Between the Lines?

Between the Lines is a joint initiative of the Inspire Foundation and Ted Noffs.

The Inspire Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that uses technology to deliver innovative, evidence-based programs which prevent youth suicide and promote young people's mental health and wellbeing. Inspire has been in operation for 12 years, and young people are at the centre of everything we do. Like Between the Lines, our successful web based programs Reach Out and ActNow programs are developed in with young people, for young people.

Ted Noffs was founded over 37 years ago and provides essential services for young people and their families who are experiencing drug and alcohol problems and related trauma.

Between the Lines was funded by the Department of Health and Ageing. However, development of design and content has been - and remains - independent. The opinions expressed on Between the Lines are not necessarily those of the Department of Health and Ageing, the Inspire Foundation or the Ted Noffs Foundation.

It’s early days for Between the Lines. It’s just a website, and not a fully fledged community yet. Providing you with a safe space and a user experience that fosters community is important to us. If you have any feedback on how we could improve, be sure to share it with us. (marianne@betweenthelines.net.au).
